Strong Fertility Center Welcomes Wendy Vitek
Strong Fertility Center of the University of Rochester Medical Center recently welcomed reproductive endocrinologist Wendy Vitek, M.D., to its team.
Vitek has extensive experience in all types of infertility treatments and was appointed director of the Centerâs Fertility Preservation Program. Established in 2009, the program provides options for individuals who face loss of fertility due to cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation.
A graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Vitek completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed a reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
Vitek is experienced in treatments such as ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization. She is a leader in minimally invasive robotic surgery for infertility and offers this service for tubal reversals, fibroids and other infertility procedures.
Her experience at Brown University, working closely with renowned menopause experts, brings added expertise to patients seeking consultations for hormone therapy.
Vitekâs research interests include infertility treatments in obesity, PCOS, fertility preservation and adolescent reproductive issues.
She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and Resolve: The National Infertility Association.
