UR Medicine’s Strong Fertility Center has good news for those who hope to start a family but are struggling with infertility. The Center has lowered the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF), the most effective treatment for infertility.
“We know that cost is a barrier for some couples who face the challenge of infertility, and that treatments sometimes take several attempts before they are successful,” said Center director Kathleen Hoeger, M.D.
“Often, a large portion of the cost is not covered by health insurance. To help our couples, we’ve introduced new package pricing that makes infertility treatment more affordable,” she said.
IVF is expensive and—even under the best circumstances—one IVF cycle in a patient with the best prognosis has a 45 percent success rate. As a result, most couples understand it may require more than one cycle before they have a baby.
"We’ve created package pricing that bundles several cycles, offering significant discounts over a single-cycle price. We’ve designed these packages to make the treatment as affordable as possible, folding in the costs of additional services that are sometimes needed,” Hoeger said.
