Nominate a Cancer Survivor to be Honored at the Wilmot Warrior Walk
The Wilmot Warrior Walk features a 5K, 10K, 1-mile walk and family activities. The event raises funds for the Judy DiMarzo Cancer Survivorship Program as well as for cancer research at Wilmot.
The community is invited to nominate individuals who have had a cancer diagnosis or who have supported someone else with cancer.
“Fighting for those diagnosed with cancer and remembering those we’ve lost is the reason we host this event every year, so it’s important to pay tribute to survivors by honoring them at the Wilmot Warrior Walk,” says Tiffany Paine-Cirrincione, Associate Director of Advancement and Community Events for Wilmot Cancer Institute. “Honorees demonstrate discipline and mental focus. They exemplify the essential skill of dealing with life when it presents a struggle. Survivorship begins at diagnosis, and honorees are people who have remained persistent in the face of the difficulty, pain, discomfort, discouragement and fear that accompany diagnosis and treatment of cancer.”
The deadline to submit a nomination is May 11. Honorees will be announced in early summer.
