Meditation Talk Offered Feb. 17 at Wilmot Cancer Center

Feb. 8, 2009

The healing benefits of meditation will be discussed during a talk from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center.

Meditation is considered a simple but powerful, self-care practice that promotes wellness, and balance and supports healing, focus, and empowerment. Participants can experience these effects, and be able to begin their own easily integrated meditative practice.

The free session will be led by Marjorie Baker Price, R.N., a certified hypnotherapist and Level III reiki master. She is a psychiatric nurse with more than nine years of experience at the University Of Rochester Medical Center Strong Memorial Hospital specializing in behavioral inpatient, community mental health, chronic care and emergency psychiatric care.

To register for the event, call (585) 275-6426. The session is part of an integrative oncology lecture series held on the third Tuesday of each month.
