The Levy Letter Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Nov. 9, 2022
Levy Letter
Early Edition of the Levy Letter

On November 19, 2021, the first edition of the Levy Letter hit the inboxes of department of Medicine faculty and APPs. It was born from the passion of chair of Medicine, Ruth O’Regan, M.D., who wanted a way to celebrate achievements, share good news, and foster collaboration between divisions. The DOM is the largest academic and clinical department here at URMC, and the Levy Letter is a way to connect all of us!

Named in honor of Paul Levy, M.D., who acted as a transformational chair of Medicine for a decade, there have been 25 editions of the newsletter. Our audience has expanded from 800 to over 1,400 by including residents, fellows, professor emeriti, and those with joint appointments. Open rates of the newsletter have consistently been between 65 to 85 percent, a real testament to how valued this letter is.

Here are the top five stories from the past year that you most liked!

  1. Paul Levy: A Man so Great We Named our Newsletter After Him
  2. Department Creates New Leadership Role: Advanced Practice Provider Manager
  3. Announcing the 2022 Research and Education Pilot Award Winners

  5. Marc Berliant: From Practice, to Professor, to Peru
