GI Experts to Host Statewide Endoscopy Workshop

The University of Rochester Medical Center's Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology will welcome gastroenterology trainee fellows from across upstate New York for a first-ever hands-on endoscopy workshop on Saturday, Sept. 13, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at URMC's Center for Experiential Learning.

Sponsored in conjunction with the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the workshop will offer an interactive learning experience in endoscopic techniques to 20 fellows representing various programs in upstate New York.

Participants will learn various techniques used in diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health issues related to the gastro-intestinal tract, according to workshop leader Truptesh Kothari, M.D., director of URMC’s Developmental Endoscopy Lab.

In addition to Kothari, instruction will be provided by URMC experts including Vivek Kaul, M.D., chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Asad Ullah, M.D., director of Endoscopy, and Shivangi Kothari, M.D., associate director of Endoscopy.
