The Highlands at Pittsford Hosts 'Network and Learn' Event

Protecting your feet from the feats they bear daily is the topic of a free networking event for professional women scheduled from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at The Highlands at Pittsford.

The Highlands invites Rochester-area women to the free Sip, Socialize and Discover Event, featuring foot and ankle specialist Sam Flemister, M.D., who will present “High Heels, Flip Flops and Other Foot Foes: Protecting Your Feet and Ankles.” Flemister is chief of the Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Nearly half of Americans experience a foot or ankle problem during their lifetime. It’s not surprising when you consider, with their 26 bones and 33 joints, your feet absorb pressure three to four times the weight of your body when you walk, and six to eight times when you run. Flemister will offer advice on being proactive in caring for your feet.

The event will be held at Laurelwood at The Highlands, located at 300 Hahnemann Trail, Pittsford. Reservations are required for this free program. For information or to reserve a spot, call Alyssa Belasco at (585) 586-7600 ext. 289.
