Enjoy an Evening with Young Entertainers to Benefit Kids

Rochester’s youth have talent and they’re ready to prove it at a special event starring kids, for kids. The talent show, which benefits the pediatric intensive care unit at Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center, will start at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The show will take place at the University of Rochester's Alumni and Advancement Center, located at 300 East River Road in Rochester. 

 “We’re very excited for this year’s event,” said Ida Wheeler, director of the event. “This is a great fundraiser that showcases incredibly talented kids and helps out a very worthy cause.”

The show will be broken into two acts. During the first act, children will perform songs and dances individually and in groups. Winning contestants will be determined by a panel of judges.

The second act will comprise performances by older teens and young adults with burgeoning careers in their crafts. The second act performers have been invited by Timothy Mitchum, a School of the Arts student who has been involved with the talent show for more than a decade. Mitchum, who has performed at the inaugural Nobel Awards and the 2008 Grammys and in Broadway performances, TV shows and movies, will perform as the last act.
