Local Developers’ Generosity will Support Continued Growth

The generosity of three Rochester-area business partners and real estate developers will help spur progress at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC).

Robert C. Morgan, Ralph DiTucci, and the family of the late Peter D. Formicola presented a gift of $3 million to URMC CEO Bradford C. Berk, M.D., Ph.D., to advance strategic initiatives at the Medical Center, according to Morgan.

“We are proud to support Dr. Berk’s vision for the University of Rochester Medical Center, knowing the potential it has to impact the health of people in our community, as well as advances in science and medicine,” Morgan said. “Our gift is an investment in the people, technology and facilities that will make a difference in the lives of many, locally and around the world.”

Morgan, a long-time supporter of the Medical Center, joined the URMC board in 2009 and currently serves on its Audit and Risk Assessment Committee. He has also served on the Quality of Care Committee. Formicola was an active supporter of Golisano Children’s Hospital at URMC and served on its board of directors.

“We are extremely grateful for this generous gift and the support we enjoy from these prominent community leaders,” Berk said. “Their contributions – as business leaders as well as donors – help fortify our efforts to transform our regional medical center to a nationally respected magnet for research, teaching, patient care, and community service.”
