Upcoming Community Events "Go Gold" for Cancer Research
The crisp air and sunshine of fall are perfect for participating in community fundraisers that get you outside and active for a great cause! With September being National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month there are multiple opportunities to support cancer research and awareness right in our own community.
Here are a few upcoming events that benefit Golisano Children's Hospital:
- Sept. 20, Annalise's Friends' 3rd annual 5K Run/Walk: Held at Baker Park in Canandaigua, this event kicks off with pre-registration at 7:30 a.m. The 5K Run will start at 9 a.m., followed by a kids' run at 10 a.m. Held in honor of 2013 Golisano Children's Hospital Miracle Kid Courtney Wagner, the event benefits childhood cancer research. - Sept. 27, Run for the Gold 5K Run/Walk: Head to the Wolcott Street tennis courts in LeRoy for registration at 8 a.m. Hosted by the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation, the race starts at 9 a.m. Register at active.com or visit the Michael Napoleone Memorial Foundation web site for more information. Participate in a special raffle with a Dinner for 10 prize and you could win a five-course gourmet dinner, paired with wine, for you and nine of your friends at an intimate home setting in Batavia. Sept. 27, PhotoFinish 5K for Crosby's Fund: Participate in the George Eastman's House PhotoFinish 5K, starting at 8 a.m., in support of neuroblastoma research at Golisano Children's Hospital and the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Be a part of the Crosby's Fund team by walking or running or donate online!
Cancer is one of the seven priority programs of the children's hospital's $100 million campaign and organizations around the region are going gold, the color of awareness for pediatric cancer, for our children. We appreciate all of your support!
