A model program for autism-related feeding disorders
Many children - and adults - affected by autism also struggle with food aversions and other feeding challenges.
Lynn Cole, a pediatric nurse practitioner and associate director of clinical services of Golisano Children's Hospital's Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics shares more about our own successful feeding program in a recent blog post provided on the Autism Speaks website.
Created with a team approach to helping children with serious feeding issues, the outpatient program was launched four years ago with a "feeding evaluation and treatment team." Since then, the program has grown immensely, with an expanded group of specialists and an individualized treatment strategy for every patient.
